Pearls of Africa

I walk on bare red earth, inhale the dewy hot air, and take in the majesty of these wonderful peoples, moment by moment. In my time here, in Uganda and Tanzania, I discover so many unique memories where my world view is clashing with someone I have never met, and may never meet again. It is as if a memory pearl has been offered to me in these exchanges. I record these memories so I will never forget. I add each one to my string, tie a small knot, and add the next. I will never lose these pearls. This strand of pearls comforts me and reminds me of the majesty of each individual — of Mother Nature and the unique experiences she creates for us to cherish. These pearls celebrate victory, dignity, and splendor of the people and places I encountered on my travels.
